Plot Summary:A twenty-year-old man, who has graduated from high school, gives up on attending the university. He plays the trumpet at a Jazz cafe in Shinjuku in Tokyo, which earns him money and affords him the savings to travel to the USA for a jazz festival via Europe. He departs Yokohoma on a ship. He plays the trumpet on-board. The man finds himself dealing with jazz music, girls and alcohol in Europe.
