Based on the period of the World War II, the situation is turbulent. The war had reached the state of white heat, the Nazis were looking at the development of nuclear weapons ,which caused concern in the United States. Thus, they started a program called Manhattan and began to recruit physical talents everywhere. Oppenheimer was officially one of them, and finally he led the team to developed the first atomic bomb. Oppenheimer is known as the "father of the atomic bomb" in the United States. However, after he developed the atomic bomb, he also understood the consequences ---- it was such a big killer, he thought he was a executioner. Since then, he refused to continue to develop, so he offended the people who led the war, and finally was sent to the military court. Oppenheimer himself is a man of contradictions, wanting to study his experiments without harming people. His inner struggle and moral commitment are clearly visible in the play.

To be honest, the reason why I watched this film was because I was obsessed with physics and had heard the legendary story of Oppenheimer in high school. The film is dominated by grey tones. In addition, the overall melody is depressed and low. Sometimes the obscure professional terms sometimes make people feel bored. Yet the climax of the atomic bomb and Oppenheimer's musings are exhilarating,which makes the image of Oppenheimer in my memory more full three-dimensional. The thing I saw is not that kind of obstreperous, rigid and eccentric temperament. The film taught me the true meaning of science, and that it can also have temperature. As a scientist, Oppenheimer spent his life exploring science and ethics, the universe beyond all conscious value judgments. He didn't want to be an instrument of the will of the state. Whether Success or failure, hero or sinner, it all depends on his heart. "The world is changing. Reforming. This is your moment." What I feel is the sadness of this great scientific hero and the sense of responsibility that belongs to the scientists of that era and of the future. All in all, Oppenheimer is one of the greatest movie, which is undoubtedly worthy of our serious consideration.
